The 167 and Coronavirus

Almost four months have now passed since we have been able to meet, and we hope that during that time all of our boys and their families have managed to stay safe and well.

Unfortunately though it is unlikely that we will be able to begin meeting immediately as “normal” at the start of September, and that the coming session is likely to look a bit different from what we are all used to; it is our intention that all sections of the company will resume weekly activities again after the summer holidays are over. The staff of all three sections are now working on new ways of making this happen to ensure that once restrictions are lifted in full the company is still here for all of our members.

All of our current members will be notified nearer the time by post what the arrangements will be for us starting back. Also follow our Facebook page for any further updates!

Coronavirus – All Section Activities Suspended

The staff of the 167th have been carefully monitoring the outbreak of the Coronavirus across the UK and keeping up to date with advice issued by UK Government and other relevant authorities.

Following new Government advice issued today that everyone should stop non-essential contact with others and stop all unnecessary travel, it has been concluded that all BB weekly meetings/activities, events and trips should be immediately suspended. This takes effect as of Monday 16th March 2020 at 21:00.

As such there will be no further BB activities until further notice. Unfortunately this includes our planned holiday to Kirkham.

Parents of boys scheduled to attend Kirkham are requested to come to the church between 19:30 and 20:00 on Wednesday 18th March to receive a full refund.

Please, stay safe.

Regards,
Staff of 167th Glasgow

Ex-Members 43rd Annual Reunion Dinner and AGM

This year is our 43rd Annual Reunion Dinner and AGM which will be held on Friday 28th February.

We had a great turn out last year totalling 35 Members and raised £750 for the Company through subscriptions and participation in the raffle. It would be fantastic to beat those numbers this year so make sure you put the date in your diary and arrange to join us!

We have decided to return to last years’ venue, Ralston Golf Club, Strathmore Avenue, Ralston, PA1 3DT.

The price will remain the same as last year in the hope of encouraging more Members and “younger” Members to attend. If you have any contact details of ex-Members who may not have received this letter please send us a message in order that we can extend an invitation to them to join us.

The price of the evening is £25. The price for “younger” Members (under 20) and “older” Members is £20. For those of you who don’t already pay your subscription by Standing Order, £7 is due per Member, and it would be appreciated if Members could pay this prior to the evening of 28th February.

Payment details can be provided upon request by messaging via the Event on the Ex-Members Facebook page.
