Joint Annual Holiday 2024 – Derby

Drum Hill Scout Centre
Little Eaton, on outskirts of Derby

Monday 1st April – Saturday 6th April 2024

This year we are going to a new venue for the first time in a long time. The venue is the Drum Hill Scout Centre on the outskirts of Derby. We have stayed in the area before at the Glenorchy Outdoor Centre in Wirkworth, so we are very familiar with the location.

Larch Hall

Larch Hall

The Drum Hill Scout Centre was founded in 1927 and is now over 80 acres in size and is comprised of mutliple camp sites, accomodation blocks and activity venues. We will be staying in their newest accomodation block, Larch Hall which opened in 2019. Larch Hall itself is comprised of a main hall and dining area, kitchen, bedrooms, shower rooms and toilets. Boys will be allocated to a bedroom on arrival, and will be expected to help keep their room and other areas of the centre tidy.

Please note: No bedding is provided by the centre and all boys will need to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.

As in previous years this will be a joint holiday with the Juniors and Company Section, and for cost purposes most of the larger activities are at the same time, with some smaller activites being scheduled differently.

Activities for the holiday have now been finalised and these can be seen below. As usual we plan to use the centre largely as a base to visit attractions in the local area such as a Alton Towers and Waterworld Leisure Resort.
